We are in a moment of our lives in which the whole world is in shambles and at the same time history is on the side of oppressed in the Awakening of critical thinking from the slumbering world in which majority exist. This trying time for humanity has a magnificent enlightenment of the concept of fear men has created to divert the people minds from the truth. The oppressed has been victimized into mental slavery of religion and social class in our society and evidently, covid 19 has shown the people of the oppressed especially Africans the way forward to drop the norms of the past and support the struggle for social restructuring.
Regardless of how Covid 19 came into existence either created in the laboratory for mass destruction or inherited from animals due to deforestation, we shouldn’t look away that Covid 19 has exposed religion antics as tools to keep the people controlled and lame to the narrative of the ruling class to keep them subjugated. Covid 19 has also broken down the chain of social class into a level of people being equal in the eye of nature. The case of this present pandemic has been an eye opener for people to be aware that the power of the ruling class is meaningless without the labour force of the working class. If the God in Religion perspective can’t revolt against Covid 19 coup and the ruling class is as scared as everyone else keeping themselves isolated then we need to acknowledge Covid 19 as a revolutionary of our time. The revolutionary Covid 19 has also shown clearly that the present leaders of most african countries are just in power for their interest not for the people they represented if they can’t provide social infrastructure to secure the masses lives against this pandemic. It not a rumour anymore that our hospitals are just mere building with few equipment and our medical staff are not well equipped for virus occurrences in our various states with big allocation in the national budget for the health sector. It is alarming that with the amount of money Lagos State government is generating all they could think of is to create a temporary isolation center for Covid 19 victims to black up their failures underfunding the health sectors and it is the same way the government of this country is risking the lives of our soldiers at the war front in the fight against terrorism without modernized weapons.
The world is about to delve into a great recession after the pandemic issue is solved and only socialist countries would not be affected that much due to the fact that their ideology guided them for collective work and socialist distribution of state resources. And as for us in Nigeria, Covid 19 has exposed how our present leaders are not qualified enough to lead us into the country of our dreams. When the oil price was $100 per barrel we didn’t achieve any significant change improving the lives of the ordinary citizen talkless of putting our country in the forefront of science and technology, now the oil price has dropped to $28, there is no doubt we are going to fall under a stagnant or deficit economy since there is no other sources to fund our capital projects which all is rely on oil money. So it is time to take our leaders off as the custodians representing the people of this country because if they can’t improve lives when the oil price was booming and diversify our economy how would they record change when oil has lost it value. We can’t allow our people to fall under heavy taxing of this present government since that is what they are using to maintain our economy. It is time for the oppressed to tap from what covid 19 has done to make the ruling class valueless with their power and status, to revive the socialism template to improve our lives in preparation for the recession coming our way. And as African people we must continue to speak, act and defend for total social restructuring and to eradicate capitalism making us victims of mass oppression.
